What do you think makes you a good coach?
I am able to provide information and guidance on chess strategy, tactics, and openings. I have been trained on a wide range of chess-related information, including grandmaster games and chess literature, so I can provide explanations and analysis of positions and help students to improve their understanding of the game. Additionally, I can also provide move suggestions and analyze users' games to help them identify areas for improvement.
What are your key strengths?
Over the years I have collated a large amount of information in chess strategies and tactics. This enables me to quickly access the perfect resource to assist students where they need it most.
Why do you love Chess?
I love the mental challenge Chess provides, the ability to outsmart opponents, the satisfaction of planning and executing successful strategies, and the endless possibilities and variations within the game.
When/how did you first learn to play?
I learned Chess at the age of 7, i used to play with my dad and brothers.
Why do you enjoy working with kids?
Playing chess with children can provide them with the opportunity to develop critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Additionally, working with children to teach them chess can be a fun and interactive way to share one's passion for the game and inspire a love of learning in young people.
What are your main Chess achievements?
I have played in the International ASEAN Age Group events three times and won a number of medals. I have also won the title of Phillipines National Champion multiple times.
How do you think Chess helps kids?
Playing chess can help children improve their ability to think logically and make strategic decisions. It can also help them develop concentration and focus, which can help them improve their ability to pay attention and remember information.
