What do you think makes you a good coach?
As a coach, I have patience and a positive attitude which helps me to connect with my students and improve their skills. When a student does not understand something or makes a mistake, I am always willing to explain to them again to correct their mistake.
What are your key strengths?
My key strengths are team working, patience and a positive attitude. I have a good understanding of fundamental chess as well.
Why do you love Chess?
I love chess because it is a complex and strategic game that requires a lot of mental effort and analytical thinking. The skills and mindset anyone can develop is very useful in everyday life.
When/how did you first learn to play?
I first learned chess when I was 10. My uncle taught me how to play and I used to play chess a lot with him.
Why do you enjoy working with kids?
Working with kids can be a rewarding experience as I have the opportunity to positively impact their lives and help them develop into confident, independent, and successful individuals.
What are your main Chess achievements?
Back in India, I have played lots of chess tournaments and played a couple of FIDE tournaments. I have achieved a 1500 FIDE international rating.
How do you think Chess helps kids?
Chess can provide many benefits for kids, both academically and personally. By learning chess, kids can improve their critical thinking, problem-solving ability, positive mindset, and memory. Chess can teach kids important life skills such as patience, perseverance, and sportsmanship.
Working with kids who play chess can be a great opportunity to help instil these values and promote positive character development, develop their intellectual, social, and emotional skills, and to foster a love for the game that can last a lifetime.
