Overview
The Junior Candidates Invitational Tournaments are designed for Kids excelling in Chess to further extend themselves in a highly competitive environment.
The 20 best-performing kids from the most recent Interschools Competition for a region are specifically invited to play in the Junior Candidates Invitational Tournaments.
Tournament Format
The top kids are matched against each other in a special 7-round tournament. The time control is 15 minutes per player.
Cost of Entry
The entry fee for the Junior Candidates tournaments is $15. The winner of the most recent Interschools Tournament gains free entry into the Junior Candidates Tournament.
Prizes
Every player receives a certificate
Trophies are awarded for 1st, 2nd and 3rd
Junior Candidate Master
The Junior Candidates Tournament is a great opportunity for kids to earn the Junior Candidate Master Title. Read more about it on the Chess Power Titles page.
