What do you think makes you a good coach?

I think my natural curiosity is a strong asset that will help me become a good coach. I believe I can learn a lot from the kids I coach, while also helping them develop a deeper understanding of the game. Coaching is a two-way street, and I’m excited to grow alongside my students.

What are your key strengths?

  • Positive attitude

  • Creative thinker

  • Willingness to adapt

These qualities help me stay flexible, encouraging, and open-minded as a coach.

Why do you love chess?

I enjoy chess because it tests many aspects of who you are, not just your knowledge of the game. It challenges:

  • Your critical thinking

  • Your composure under pressure

  • Your ability to stay calm with time constraints

These are valuable life skills that everyone benefits from improving.

When/how did you first learn to play?

I was first taught chess as a child but only began playing regularly during university in 2020. Since then, it’s become a fun and meaningful part of my routine.

Why do you enjoy working with kids?

I see working with kids as a growth opportunity for both myself and the kids. I’m looking forward to finding out how we can learn and have fun together.

What are your main chess achievements?

emoji_events Played over 4,000 games on Chess.com. This experience has helped me build practical skills and a broad perspective on different styles of play.

How do you think chess helps kids?

As mentioned earlier, I believe chess helps kids:

  • Overcome different types of challenges

  • Develop emotional resilience

  • Improve focus and decision-making

Learning these skills early on is bound to benefit them throughout life, both on and off the board.
