1. What do you think makes you a good coach?

I believe my patience, clear communication, and passion for the game make me an effective coach. I enjoy breaking down complex ideas into simple, engaging concepts that students can easily understand. I also focus on building students’ confidence and encouraging them to enjoy the learning process.


2. What are your key strengths?

My key strengths include:

  • Adaptability

  • A positive, encouraging attitude

  • Being highly organized

  • Creating a structured, fun, and safe learning environment for all students


3. Why do you love chess?

I love chess because it challenges the mind, fosters critical thinking, and teaches valuable life skills like patience, planning, and resilience. It’s a game where you’re always learning, no matter how experienced you are.


4. When and how did you first learn to play?

I first learned to play chess in Grade 9 and quickly became passionate about the game. I played for my school team from Grade 9 to Grade 13, which helped me develop both playing skills and a deeper understanding of advanced strategies.


5. Why do you enjoy working with kids?

I enjoy working with kids because they are curious, creative, and full of energy. It’s incredibly rewarding to see them learn, grow, and gain confidence through chess. Teaching kids also keeps me enthusiastic and constantly thinking of new, fun ways to teach.


6. What are your main chess achievements?
