You can read the Regionals FAQ for more information about how Chess Power regional tournaments work.
We recommend you read the Player Rules and discuss these rules with your students before the tournament.

  • Only the official representative for Chess at your school should place an entry
  • If you do not know the names of your Team-Members, enter your school and leave the names blank. When you have confirmed all your team-members, return here and enter them.
  • Your team can be as small as just one player, however please note the scores of the top four players in each team will be counted towards your team results. So you are best to put in a minimum of four players.
  • If you have more than 10 players, you can choose to split your players into Teams. We recommend you place your strongest players in Team A and second strongest players in Team B etc.
Chess Power Nationals Winners
  • If the venue for the Regionals Event you would like to enter is undetermined, and you would like to host the event, please click the Host checkbox and we will advise further details.
  • All schools will be sent a tax-invoice reflecting the number of players who actually attend the event. This will be sent on the day of the event.

  • The rookies division is reserved for players that are completely new to Chess. The players must know the basic rules of how to move the pieces but they will have never played in a proper Chess Tournament before and not used a clock before. Here is a great video series we recommend from to help kids learn the basics.
  • The Rookies division is only open to Junior players from years 1-6
  • Participants in the rookies division play as individuals - not as a team. So you can enter one player up to as many as you would like. There is no qualification process for the rookies division and there are no certificates. Prizes may be given to the top three players.
  • Enter the names of the into the Rookies division box below.

  • Fees for the tournament division are $15 per player (inclusive of GST)
For Decile 1 & 2 schools fees are $5 per player inclusive of GST.
For Decile 3 & 4 schools feees are $10 per player inclusive of GST.
  • For the Rookies division, fees are $5 per player regardless of school decile (inclusive of GST)
  • Please do not bring any Cash or Cheques on the day for entry fees.
  • You will have the opportunity to purchase discounted merchandise (Chess Sets, Clocks, Books etc) at the event. Again, we can invoice your school for items purchased on the day.

All team-member names must be entered three working days before the event.
