What do you think makes you a good coach?

I create a supportive, engaging learning environment where students feel comfortable, included, and motivated. My lessons are enjoyable and interactive, and I make a point of understanding each student’s needs so they can improve at their own pace.

What are your key strengths?

My key strengths are patience, clear communication, and empathy. I explain concepts simply and clearly while encouraging students to think for themselves. I strive to build a positive, fun, and respectful atmosphere where students can learn and grow with confidence.

Why do you love chess?

I love chess because it never gets boring—there are endless ways to play and learn, and every match is different. It challenges you to think ahead and reminds you that every move matters, much like in life.

When/how did you first learn to play?

I first learned chess at school in the UAE. Watching classmates play during breaks, I was drawn to how the game felt serious yet calm. When I finally tried it, I was hooked—the challenge, the thinking, and the satisfaction of a smart move turned curiosity into a lasting passion.

Why do you enjoy working with kids?

Kids bring energy and curiosity. It’s rewarding to see them improve, get excited about learning, and gain confidence—from grasping a new tactic to winning their first game. Those moments make coaching truly special.

How do you think chess helps kids?

Chess strengthens focus, memory, and problem-solving. It teaches patience, discipline, and accountability for one’s choices. Most importantly, it builds confidence and shows that with effort and practice, they can achieve anything.
